I'm loving this outfit! Blue and green together are just awesome.

It was really bright outside yesterday. I had to darken the pics because it was so blinding.

The Food:

The Craft:

A watercolor/acrylic splattering of Ireland. This was one of the pictures I painted for Shaylynn's 30 Day Drawing Contest. I'll be sharing the rest of them sometime...soon.

The Week Before St. Paddy's Day - Day 6 - Irish Breakfast and Celtic Knots

Hi there!

Here is what should have been posted on Sunday :P I suck at daily posts.

The Outfit:

This is what I wore to Mass.
 

The back of this shirt and I have a love/hate relationship...I love the lacey look, but I hate having to wear a cami underneath this shirt because I get overheated in it during the summer. I don't normally go for open back/see through shirts, but I LOVE this one.

My aunt gave me this scarf and I love the colors! So spring-y and bright :) 

I kept having to remind myself not to lean fully against the tree because the last time I did that, I picked up some lovely, sticky sap on my shirt :P

The Food:

If you've never had an Irish breakfast before, you must try it. They're amazing. They usually include, sausage, rasher (ham-like bacon, which I did not have), toast or some sort of pancake, sunny side up eggs, half a tomato, mushrooms, white and black pudding, and tea. We left out the mushrooms and pudding 'cause we're not big fans of either.

The Craft:

So I started with this old stool that Robert's mom gave us. Robert sanded it for me first, before I started painting it with some of his old room paint.

Here it is with the first coat of paint...

After the second coat was dry, the next step was to paint a Celtic knot on top. I wanted to make my own stencil by printing the design, but my printer couldn't print it to the size I needed, so I ended up having to paint it by hand. I think it turned out well :)

I'm quite proud of it.

I've had this necklace for forever.

Almost all the snow is melted! SPRING IS HERE!!!!

Perfect weather for these.

The Food:

Robert and I made Irish Stew from scratch yesterday. It was REALLY good!



Biscuits from the other night.

I had extra batter from the cupcakes, so I made a 6 in. two layer cake. I was trying to use up some sprinkles, if you can't tell....

Mmmm, SPRINKLES.

The Craft:

The Week Before St. Paddy's Day - Day 4 - A Leprechaun's Favorite Drink

The Outfit:

I was running out of time that day, so I only had time for a selfie :P

The Food:

This is what happens when the photographer doesn't take pictures of food BEFORE she takes it to a party full of hungry people. It gets eaten. Therefore, half a veggie tray :P

This, my friends is Leprechaun Lime Punch. It's amazing.
Here is the recipe:
2 cans of frozen limeade
1/4 c. sugar ( I used pure cane sugar)
1/4 c. lime juice
2 liters of lemon lime soda
2 cartons of lemon sorbet or lime if you can find it
Mix first 3 ingredients in large punch bowl, then add half of the soda. Spoon in lemon sorbet and mix. Add more soda. It will start to foam. Serve immediately. Makes about 24 servings (Hint: If all ingredients don't fit into the punch bowl, add them later, it will cause more foam and fizziness and look amazing again.) Enjoy!



Yummy Paleo Biscuits. Get the recipe here. I used one of our Celtic crosses to make an imprint on the top of the biscuits! Who needs a cookie stamp?!

The finished cupcakes!!!! They were delicious.

The Craft:

I covered the front of this paper mache letter in Celtic scrap book paper. First I painted the parts that were not getting covered in paper with dark green acrylic paint. Once it was dry, I traced its shape onto the paper, cut it out, and modge- podged it onto the letter. It's gorgeous, is it not?

And yes, I am sitting on black sheep skin :P

I like sheep, okay? Sheep+Ireland? Even better.

The Food:

This isn't exactly Irish, but there is green in it so it counts. Meatless black bean burgers with parsley, and Kale on the side.

Making shamrock shaped cupcakes for my sister's party the next day! They turned out really well :) Found the idea on Pinterest of course! Here's the link.

Yep, those are marbles.

Worrying they wouldn't turn out well, being Gluten and Dairy free :P

The Crafts:

Robert's and my niece made this Barbie dress for me!!! She's just beginning to learn how to sew and she's doing REALLY well. She did this all by herself :)

This is a project I did last summer. It was originally all white and I thought it needed to be spiced up a bit. I used dark green acrylic paint and painted two coats onto it. Then I hand painted the silver Celtic knot and vines. I'm really happy with it! It looks so much more me now.

The Outfit:

Orange Turtle T-shirt - Thrifted
Green Long Sleeved Shirt - Thrifted

This is what I wore to work. I was told by one person that I looked like a leprechaun and  by another, a carrot. In a good way. :D I guess that is what happens when one wears super bright colors to work! I know the shirt isn't Irish, but the colors are! There are Irish turtles out there, right? Right.

We had a nice sunshine-y day as you can see :)

The Food:

For dinner I made Irish bangers and mash with caramelized onions and parsley. YUM. Not as good as the stuff we had in Ireland, though.

I is loving my napkinz.

The Craft:

The project for the day: Painting a drab lampshade. It was rather discolored, so I decided to paint it white.

Then I painted this lovely little something onto it :) I used a Celtic knot stencil from Hobby Lobby. Get it HERE. The paint I used was acrylic, probably from Wal-Mart.

Perfection.
