A Sunday Outfit
Several weeks ago I put together this outfit for church and I rather liked it so I thought I would share with you lovely people!
Now, I'm all for bright colors people. ALL THE WAY. But, I wasn't sure about this shirt at first. (Actually I think it's a dress, but I'm not sure if I will wear it as a dress sooooo...it's a shirt) I took a chance on it though, and I'm glad I did. I like it! I was thinking it looked like something one would wear to an art museum, maybe because it reminds me of a Vincent van Gogh painting!
Dress/Tunic Shirt - Goodwill - $5.50
Black Long Sleeved Shirt - Wal-mart - I don't remember, but it was on sale! Probably $3 or less.
Black Skirt - Goodwill - $2.50
Necklace - A gift
So for an outfit that cost around $11, I think I found a keeper. What do you think?
What is your style and what colors do you like the most? Have you ever bought something you weren't too sure about? Did it end up in the donate pile or is it still in your closet?
Cheers!

A Peep of a Different Color
Hiya pals,
Did everyone have a nice Easter this year? Ours was very low-key. I wasn't feeling too good, so we canceled our original plans with Robert's family (it was a ways away and I didn't feel well enough to travel). So we had a nice quiet day and then later on I felt a lot better and we decided to go over to my parents. It was nice to just waste time with family. No worries, no obligations, just fun :)
Here are the pictures of our Easter this year:
I love this dress. Robert bought it for me in 2010 and I've worn it every Easter for the past five years.
Me and Robbie.
He's not much of a pastel or bright color person, but he humors me occasionally :D
We picked out Easter candy for each other when we went out shopping together :)
Mom and Dad bought me a fairy garden set! I can't wait to get started on my garden and build some fairy houses! It's been AGES since I've done that.
So, that's that. Happy Belated Easter!!!!!

St. Paddy's Day - Scones and Rainbow Stamps
Happy Day after St. Paddy's Day!!!!!!
I hope you enjoyed my week before St. Patrick's Day party! I had fun :) I also learned that I'm not great at posting daily, but hey, it's better than what I've done in the past! So long as I keep it up...hehe.
Anyways, here is the outfit I wore on St. Patrick's Day:

Anyways, here is the outfit I wore on St. Patrick's Day:
Plaid Shirt - Thrifted Black T-shirt - Wet Seal Black Cami - Maurices Green Skirt - Thrifted Flats - TOMS - Nordstrom.com Shamrock Earrings - Claires Celtic Knot Necklace - Irish Fest. |
I love this combo! That shirt is my absolute favorite right now.
It looked warmer than it was :P Afterwards I went inside and put leggings on!
My sisters have similar necklaces to this. My eldest has one with a shamrock and my other sister's has a Celtic trinity knot.
My shoes.
I made gluten and dairy free scones for the first time!!!!!!! They're amazing. Here is the recipe. I did make a few changes since her recipe wasn't dairy free. I used almond milk instead of regular and spectrum spread vegetable shortening in place of butter. Robert is not allergic to eggs so I didn't bother replacing those. I also did not have the self-raising flour mix she used so I used my flour blend (brown rice flour, potato flour, and tapioca starch) + 2 tsp. of GF baking powder.
Topped with black current jam. YUM.

Sooo. I did not have time to finish the Celtic craft I was going to share, so I will share this instead. Around this time last year, I bought this adorable little notebook from TangleCrafts on Etsy. IT'S SO COLORFUL I'M GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!! I love it. I turned it into an address book, so I guess you could call it a craft. Sorta. This lady's stuff is amazing so be sure to check out her shop!
Well, that is all for now, folks. I hope you all had a very Irish-y St. Patrick's Day! Cheers :)

The Outfit:
My aunt gave me this scarf and I love the colors! So spring-y and bright :)
I kept having to remind myself not to lean fully against the tree because the last time I did that, I picked up some lovely, sticky sap on my shirt :P
The Food:
The Craft:
So I started with this old stool that Robert's mom gave us. Robert sanded it for me first, before I started painting it with some of his old room paint.
Here it is with the first coat of paint...
I'm quite proud of it.

Outside photoshoots are such fun!
This is another outfit I've never combined before. I like it!
I've had this necklace for forever.
Almost all the snow is melted! SPRING IS HERE!!!!
Perfect weather for these.
The Food:
Robert and I made Irish Stew from scratch yesterday. It was REALLY good!
Biscuits from the other night.
I had extra batter from the cupcakes, so I made a 6 in. two layer cake. I was trying to use up some sprinkles, if you can't tell....
Mmmm, SPRINKLES.
The Craft:

The Outfit:
The Food:
This is what happens when the photographer doesn't take pictures of food BEFORE she takes it to a party full of hungry people. It gets eaten. Therefore, half a veggie tray :P
Yummy Paleo Biscuits. Get the recipe here. I used one of our Celtic crosses to make an imprint on the top of the biscuits! Who needs a cookie stamp?!
The finished cupcakes!!!! They were delicious.

The Outfit:
Plaid Cap - Present from my sister Sheep T-shirt - Thrifted Black Long Sleeved Shirt - Wal-mart Jeans - Thrifted |
And yes, I am sitting on black sheep skin :P
I like sheep, okay? Sheep+Ireland? Even better.
The Food:
This isn't exactly Irish, but there is green in it so it counts. Meatless black bean burgers with parsley, and Kale on the side.
Making shamrock shaped cupcakes for my sister's party the next day! They turned out really well :) Found the idea on Pinterest of course! Here's the link.
Yep, those are marbles.
Worrying they wouldn't turn out well, being Gluten and Dairy free :P
The Crafts:
Robert's and my niece made this Barbie dress for me!!! She's just beginning to learn how to sew and she's doing REALLY well. She did this all by herself :)
